AFJROTC Marksmanship
This is three position (standing, kneeling, & prone) marksmanship. This is a demanding sport that requires a maximum level of concentration and practice. The high school range is a standard 10 meters Civilian Marksmanship Program air rifle range for 8 competitors. The range master is a certified Civilian Marksmanship Instructor and one of the AFJROC instructors.
Safety is paramount. Candidates for the team are not allowed to shoot until they have taken the Civilian Marksmanship Program safety class and passed the 40 question safety test with a score of 100%. After passing the test and getting written parental permission, candidates are allowed to shoot. The range is locked during shooting.
The team participates in Far East competition held at various locations in the Pacific. This is an athletic sport and members of the varsity team can earn an Athletic Letter.
