Osan Middle High School hosts Winter Gear Fun-Run to celebrate student achievement
Osan, South Korea – The Osan Middle High School Physical Education Department brought holiday cheer to campus with its annual Winter Gear Fun-Run, a festive mile race that welcomed 76 students from grades 6 through 8. Participants embraced the season by wearing their ugliest sweaters and coziest winter attire, while enjoying hot cocoa, candy canes, and prizes after the run.
The event was organized by Ms. Dawn Brown and Mr. Dexter Thomas, with generous support from Dr. Darci Humphrey, Counselor Sheri Moore, Nurse Hyoeun Elliot, and AAPS Teacher Mr. Walt Allen. High School Ambassadors also played a vital role in managing the event, ensuring smooth operations and a joyful atmosphere. Faculty and community members donated gifts, adding to the festive spirit and rewarding students for their hard work.

- 7th Grade Female Winners: 1st Jessica Camacho, 2nd Mia McCarthy, 3rd Rayel Williams
- 7th Grade Male Winners: 1st Daniel Aguilar-Perez, 2nd Phakaphon Onla, 3rd Holden Albulov
- 6th Grade Female Winners: 1st Tinsley Tucker, 2nd Josephine Albulov, 3rd Ella Oh

Several students achieved new personal records, showcasing their dedication and growth. The Fun-Run also celebrated academic and physical achievements, with 96 percent of enrolled students improving their Aerobic Capacity Test scores this semester. They knocked the S.M.A.R.T Goal out of the park!
“The Winter Gear Fun-Run was a wonderful way to reward our students for their hard work in Physical Education and their core classes,” said Ms. Dawn Brown. “It was inspiring to see so many students come together in the spirit of health, fitness, and holiday joy.”
The Winter Gear Fun-Run was more than a race it was a celebration of community, resilience, and student success.
